Our petition is now *online*

June 28, 2010

We now have an online petition hosted at 38 degrees http://www.38degrees.org.uk/page/s/kirkgatemkt

So far thousands have signed the petition at the Market which can be found at many stalls but if you cannot get to the Market you can now support the Market and market traders through this online petition.

The campaign is already having an impact. The new Labour administration in place in Leeds City Council is starting to think how will they make a difference to the Market. We have heard good signs so far but thousands of signatures will surely have an effect in shaping new policy decisions.

SIgned the online petition – but more importantly taken 4 people shopping for veggies at lunchtime. We bought 3 melons for £1, 2 pineapples for a £1, 2 punnets strawberries for a £1 and amsses of salad items.

Most importantlythis means 3 more converts to shopping at Leeds market- hurray! One visit is enough to convince anybody of what a great place it is to shop. There are all going back on thursday armed with shopping trolleys.
