** Public Meeting **

March 29, 2010

save our market

market-1

Holy Trinity Church, Boar Lane, LS1 6HW, Leeds

Monday 26th April from 5.30pm

Leeds Kirkgate Market is more than a magnificent landmark; it is a vital resource for the city and its people.

But after years of mismanagement and rising rents, more and more stalls are closing – the market’s future could be under threat.

We say ‘Enough is Enough’!

This public meeting will launch Friends of Leeds Kirkgate Market, a group of customers, traders and citizens who will campaign to ensure the market’s survival as a place we can all use and be proud of.

Speakers from Leeds Civic Trust, Market Traders Association and Friends of Queens Market (London).

SPREAD THE WORD. Send this to everyone you known or print the leaflet and put it around your neighbourhood.

Through rich and poor times the market has provided me and my family with good quality, reasonably priced food. To watch it deteriote is a crime – you have my 100% support.

Leeds Kirkgate Market is a treasure.
It is a key part of the City of Leeds.
The retailing caters for all and its community function is very important.
I am a customer and I enjoy high quality produce at cut down prices from my regular suppliers.
Quality for money with the occasional ridiculously good bargains.
I support the market as the market supports me!
Thank you to everyone who helps run the show.
Best wishes for a prosperous a lively future.
    Andy
